10 Questions with Virginia's Brandon Allen
With the return of the Ultimate Hoops League at Life Time - Gainesville in Virginia, former league stars are rounding back into basketball shape. Case in point, Brandon Allen, who electrified UH Nation in 2018 by leading DMV Ballers to the Ultimate Hoops National Title at the famous Life Time - Sky court in New York City.
The 10 Questions team sat down with Allen before a recent league game in Gainesville.
What is your favorite Ultimate Hoops memory?
Going into the New York National Tournament as the least favorite to win. All of our guys in Gaithersburg put their egos aside and played some of the best team basketball to win the title.
What advice would you give to new players joining the league?
Play your game. No one is getting paid so be safe and have fun.
What is your favorite thing to do away from a basketball court?
Spend time with my family. I love to cook and cut hair in my down time.
What part of your game are you trying to improve?
Leadership. As I get older, I want to give these younger guys advice and help them mature in the game of basketball.
What motivates you to #KeepPlaying the game?
It keeps me in shape. I love being able to trash talk with the fellas. I’ve made some great friendships in Virginia.
I’m very competitive. Constantly competing against Ray Chambers in the ‘chip and lacing the kicks up with my guys I hang out with on a daily basis.
