Minnesota Continues Racking Up The Milestones
Each week, we search through our 360 media coverage to highlight the week that was in Ultimate Hoops Leagues.
In last week's Week in Review, I mentioned that Mohamed was 18 points away from scoring his 5,000th career point in his Ultimate Hoops career. Well, on Thursday night in Fridley, Mohamed scored 18 points, meaning he's now scored exactly 5,000 points. Many players surpass milestones, but not many can land exactly on the milestone they are trying to achieve. I'm not sure if Mohamed had this in mind last night (I'm guessing not) but either way, it's an impressive feat.
Milestones
Another Minnesota staple, Sonny Young-Graves, achieved a milestone this week when he won his 400th career game. His Muskies team defeated the Guerrillas 79-76 on Wednesday in Bloomington South. Young-Graves scored 30 points in the victory.
Anthony Muscat, who plays in the Shelby Vet league, has a chance to set a milestone on Saturday. He currently has 1,497 assists in his career. If he can dish out three or more on Saturday, he'll become the 20th player to ever surpass 1,500 assists in Ultimate Hoops.
Two different players played in their 250th Ultimate Hoops game on Thursday night, and they happened over 2,500 miles away from each other.
Michael Carboni played in his 250th game on Thursday, when Houdini beat Easy Go Travelers. Carboni scored 19 points in the win, shooting 5-7 from the field.
Michael Mastro played in his 250th game on Thursday, when Hooligans lost to El Chapo 79-72. Mastro scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the loss.
