No Love Lost between Strayer and Hampton

GAITHERSBURG: Week Five Predictions

By Remy Primas | Gaithersburg Media Associate

7 p.m. - Strayer vs Hampton

A matchup that’s sure to give fans their money’s worth. Two teams that are bitter rivals and want nothing more than to beat each other at any cost. Hampton is coming off their first loss of the season, as they came up a few points shy of a victory to Virginia Tech. We anticipate them looking to strike early.

Strayer is riding a two-game win streak and hoping to make it three after tomorrow night. Their defense is really starting to pick up. In order to have success they will need Jamie Newton and Seth Needleman to have double digit scoring nights. That won’t come easy as Hampton boasts a few of the leagues best defenders. The best part about everything that’s been stated is we will find out very soon exactly what each team is made so far this season.

8 p.m. - Virginia Tech vs Missouri

A rematch of two talented teams. The edge slightly goes to the Hokies. Especially since they won the first time they faced off early in the season. It came down to the wire with Missouri having some mental lapses that outing and the Hokies taking full advantage. The league’s leading rebounder Martrez Marshall has said this teams success is based off of each person playing their role and at this moment they’re doing just that.

Samy Aniba of Missouri spoke briefly to us saying that their team is one play of away in each game they’ve lost. There’s no doubt in my mind the Tigers want to win this game and prove to everyone what they’re made of. All I can say is “watch for those V Tech Hokies... they’re dangerous!”
