Who Will be the Last Remaining Unbeaten Team?
TEMPE DRAFT: Week 3 Predictions
By Adam Butler | Tempe Media Associate
What’s Gucci Tempe, its ya boy AB and we’re back with the week 3 power rankings. Not much of a shift at the top and the bottom, but the middle of the pack is all mixed up. Let’s get right into it.
1. Keepin it a Bean (2-0)
Winning their last two games by an average of 16.5 points, KiaB stays on top of this weeks power rankings. Rumor has it their leading scorer Juan Gonzalez might not be in attendance this week. It will come down to the ultimate glue guy Dakota Browning-Dudley to take his place.
2. Not Going (2-0)
Mike Collins, Cam Campbell and Adrian Harrison are easily the highest scoring big three in the league, averaging 75 of their teams 93 points. This week will be a test, as they are facing the best big in the league, and number-one overall pick Lionel Pehoua.
3. Divine Intervention (2-1)
Previously mentioned number-one overall pick Lionel has been absolutely HOOPING out in Tempe. Averaging 38 of the teams total 80 points, and almost half of their total rebounds, he is absolutely carrying the team. Im excited to see how this game plays out against the number two team. Role players around Lionel will definitely have to step up in order to compete.
4. FndF (1-1)
Lost a tough one without first-round pick Jonathan Parker but a potential ‘sleeper of the year’ Candidate Josh Malloy brings lots of spacing, scoring power, and overall talent to the team. As long as we can get the whole team to show up all on the same week, it’ll be a team that can compete with anyone.
5. West Side Connected (1-1)
In the history of Ultimate Hoops, I don’t think Jordan Sisk has failed to score 10 points in two consecutive draft games like…ever. Hold on let me look it up. Yep this is the first time ever. Someone has to get him out this funk he is in if they have any shot of winning another game. Especially if only one player a week decides to score over double digits a week.
6. Slice ’N Dice (0-2)
Definitely a team thats better than their record. Luckily this week they’ll be playing a team that will be on the back end of a double header. Dwayne and Masih will have to shoulder most of the scoring, while Mike Herz and Branden Holmes hold down the boards. As long as Branden can finish those layups.
7. Shooting Slumps (0-3)
Losing all of their games by single digits, SS are bound to win one eventually. That is… if Xavier Sanchez returns, and overall team chemistry improves as a whole. It can’t get worse. I assume? I hope. We’ll find out.
Good luck UH Tempe, see ya at 8!
