FORT WORTH: Week 1 Predictions

What better way to say congratulations to the champs, Pink Flamingos, than with a tough test right out of the blocks. The league got a lot better on paper and now the test will be in person. Here are the week one predictions.

7 p.m. - Pink Flamingos vs. LT Colleyville

The Birds are the defending champs and they only had one game last season where everyone was there. That could play a factor in week one.  A reliable source said they will be short handed. As last season can attest, it is not how you start but how you finish. They lost the first game last season and went 10-0 after that. I could see similar possibilities this season. I have never seen Colleyville players play but I feel they may have a squad. I fear the unknown. Going with LT Colleyville.

Prediction: Pink Flamingos 76 - LT Colleyville 92

8 p.m. - Rough Riders vs. Ball Don't Lie

Both of these teams have familiar faces but the teams will look oh so different. It will be interesting to see the personalities and whether there is enough ball to go around for the Rough Riders. Ball Don't Lie without a doubt has added pieces to be more competitive but will it be enough? I am going with the Rough Riders in a close one.

Prediction: Rough Riders 76- Ball Don't Lie 71

9 p.m. - Team Jones (Real name TBD) vs. Free Agents (Real name TBD)

Might have to watch the refs for some hometown cooking with two Life Time employees on Team Jones. Big man Dwayne McDonald is smooth and can move for a big man. He will be a force for the league to handle in the paint. Team Jones has no superstars but is a well rounded skilled team. The Free Agents have a solid point guard in newcomer Victor Manta and a top 10 PPR post player in Brian Butterweck. They will need one of their new comers to step up to help them be competitive.
