CG Cement will Cruise to a 3-0 Record
WEST BLOOMFIELD REC: Week 3 Predictions
By Joe Kassis | West Bloomfield League Coordinator
6 p.m. – CG Cement (2-0) vs. Fast Break (2-0)
Fast Break has gotten off to a fast 2-0 start and if they were looking for a litmus test, they sure will get one by taking on CG Cement who has obliterated their first two opponents, averaging 95 points per game so far, a ridiculous 27 higher point average than the second highest scoring team, Fast Break. While Fast Break has an opportunity to make a statement to the league and take over the No. 1 ranking, there is a higher likelihood that they get blown out by Anthony Kann, Jeff Jayson, and company, and feel like they are in a battle for second place the rest of the session.
Prediction: CG Cement 89 - Fast Break 71
7 p.m. – Kickstand Brewery (1-1) vs. Carrington Realtors (0-2)
Kickstand is an impressive squad with their full arsenal of players, as they got David Stapleton back in Week 2 after a Week 1 absence. Between Stapleton and Jon Essenmacher, they provide a 1-2 punch that will be a all but impossible for Carrington Realtors to keep in check. Carrington could keep the game close with hustle plays and defense but in the end will just not have enough scoring to win this one.
Kickstand Brewery 72 - Carrington Realtors 57
8 p.m. – Summer 19 (1-1) vs. El Fuego (0-2)
El Fuego's record and last place standing in points allowed is partly due to having already matched with No. 1 CG Cement. Guard Shockeem Jarrett (19 ppg) has been impressive despite the two defeats and poses a quickness matchup problem that Summer 19 will not be able to defend. Summer 19 will have to send extra help against Jarrett opening up shooters that Jarrett will have to find to be successful. My guess is that it will be just enough for El Fuego to pick up their first W.
El Fuego 78 - Summer 19 63
9:00 p.m. – Showtime (2-0) vs. Elite Allstars (0-2)
Out of eight teams, Elite Allstars is seventh in points scored and seventh in points allowed, a formula that has them losing by an average of 28.5 points per game so far this season. When Brandon Voss helped bring this league into the LTF West Bloomfield gym, I don't think he foresaw himself being 0-2 and on the verge of going 0-3 taking on an undefeated Showtime team, but here we are. The veteran squad in Showtime stays undefeated behind its two stars in Tyler Warga and Greg Ristau.
Showtime 68 - Elite Allstars 61
