Which Team's Will Crumble Down the Stretch?
WESTMINSTER: Week 8 Predictions
By Greg Loomis | Westminster League Coordinator
7 p.m. - Bucket Getterz (3-3) vs Fire Squad Elite (5-1)
I really hope Bucket Getterz are at full strength because to face Fire Squad Elite you need an army. To slow Fire Squad first, I would box out Zach Snyder because it starts with him. Then you need to slow down Tyler Converse from getting started, as he leads the team in scoring. Bucket Getterz will need to unleash Myron Puryear and Jarrett Green will need to be hot. If Bucket Getterz are missing anyone it could be a short night as guys like Blaze Roberts and Berto Lara will need to play smart, plus contribute in order to pull this off. Advantage Fire Squad with their roster but BG'S got the heart to pull this off.
Prediction: This one is hard not knowing Bucket Getterz roster. Not knowing has me leaning on easy money; Fire Squad by 8.
7 p.m. - Hand Down...Man Down (2-4) vs Impact Basketball (5-1)
This is another game that will lack the umph if Hand Down doesn't have a full roster vs Impact. Impact has Beau Barney, Rob Dobson and Imran Sufi, three of the top guys in Westminster. If Hand Down suits up four guys from their roster with me included and some random sub this game could get messy. Impact ranks at the top of the league in scoring and defending. Hand Down is in the top four in points allowed but are going to have to find away to keep pace ranking towards the bottom in scoring.
Prediction: Impact by 15
8 p.m. - Long Shots (3-3) vs Oh Boy (3-3)
This game is going to be in the running for game of the night between Oh Boy and the Long Shots. Both are sitting at 3-3 and need this win to create space in the standings. Pretty sure this should put two of our most consistent guys in the Westminster league up head to head, with Deandre Molden and Derek Elliot. Both guys fill the stat sheets night in and night out so killer matchup. Also looking to see which set of guards comes out on top with Joey Mclain and Brad Elliot matched against Aaron Townsend and Vince Rogers. These Matchups are the ones I think that will push one of the teams to victory. Honestly, this should be a banger. Keep an eye out on Facebook Live.
Prediction: I went straight for the coin on this one. Oh Boy by 6
8 p.m. - Tha Crew (4-2) vs MGTOW (5-1)
I am already calling this the toughest game all year with MGTOW vs Tha Crew as both teams love to get after it. There is also a lot riding on this game as both teams are in the top four of the standings. However wins will probably have the easiest road to the playoffs. Tha Crew is going to have to deal with Marvin Augustin who has been one of the most dominating forces this season. It's going to be a tough task to ask Cay Granger but I am sure he is up to the task. As well as Thomas Rowland for MGTOW who has picked up his scoring the last couple of games. For Tha Crew its going to be a mixture of Duvailier Johnson's ball control, Jaliel Randle's scoring and Jeremy's Shooting. All three phases need to be rolling and they must play turnover free. I see fireworks for this one.
Prediction: MGTOW has surprised a lot of teams but I think its time Tha Crew get the jump on somebody. Tha Crew by 8
