Dem Boyz Making the Climb
DALLAS: Week 8 Power Rankings

1. Saggy Jammers
In an instant classic, the Saggy Jammers were able to sneak by the Scoregasms 94-88 in overtime. The game was neck-and-neck for 44 minutes of regulation time, but the Jammers proved to be the team with enough left in the tank for the extra frame. Playing with out star player, and MVP frontrunner, Bryan Rollings, this game looked like it might get away from the Jammers, but they were able to rally around the strong play of Ryan Manack who had 27 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds.
The Jammers only played with five, and each of the other four players scored in double figures, with Ryan Zea posting a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Also, Dave Little, otherwise known as Super Dave, continues to defy Father Time as he logged 47 minutes and put up 15 points. With the win, the Jammers have locked up the No. 1 playoff seed so they can rest players in Week 8 against Dem Boyz.
2. Scoregasms
The Scoregasms did everything they could to claim the top seed headed into the playoffs, but came up seven points short in overtime against the Saggy Jammers this week. Anson Bartlett had a game-high 31 points, while Ross Self posted a double-double in the contest with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Unfortunately the Scoregasms can’t rest easy in Week 8, as their match up with Side Hustle is a must-win game if they want to hold onto the No. 2 seed for the playoffs.
3. BYA
The Backyard All-Stars got back to their winning ways in a blowout 79-51 victory over the Morning Crew. BYA was led in scoring by Jake Vines and Mike Swisher, who each had 18 points, while Michael Carroll added a double-double to the effort with 11 points and 11 rebounds. BYA needs a victory over the Shockers in Week 8, and a little help from Side Hustle in order to claim the No. 2 seed for the playoffs.
4. Side Hustle
Side Hustle got a win by forfeit against the Free Agents this week. But they face a tough match up against the Scoregasms in Week 8. The No. 2 seed is still a possibility for Side Hustle with a win over the Scoregasms AND a BYA loss.
5. Dem Boyz
Dem Boyz suffered a rough loss against the Shockers in Week 7. Once again playing without star player Jemarri Gunn, Dem Boyz just didn’t have enough fire power to keep up with the Shockers in the second half. Maxx Nakwaasah did everything he could to lead Dem Boyz to victory as he posted 37 points. Dem Boyz are set to lose another one in Week 8, and end the regular season at 3-5. But their record won’t matter much, because without Gunn, Dem Boyz look like a team that will be bounced out in the first round of the playoffs.
6. The Shockers
The Shockers got a much needed win against Dem Boyz this week. They were led in scoring by Martin Salinas who came off the bench to put up 27 points. When Salinas, Carson Liesfelt (16 points), and Lorenza Marshall (17 points) are all in the line up, The Shockers look like a team that can run with anyone. The Shockers hope to steal a victory against BYA in Week 8 and head into the playoffs on a strong two-game win streak.
7. The Morning Crew
After back-to-back wins, The Morning Crew reverted back to their early season form as they took a 28-point drumming from BYA. TMC was led in scoring by Scott Drelling who had 16 points. TMC will most likely be awarded a win by forfeit in Week 8 and enter the playoffs as the No. 7 seed.
8. Free Agents
The Free Agents forfeited to Side Hustle in Week 6. They are scheduled to play the Morning Crew in Week 7.
