David Anderson and Bilal Hussein carry All About The Benjamins to their third straight win
The Brookfield Life Time became the first Life Time to open in the state of Wisconsin last fall, and Karlyle Ross, the league coordinator at Brookfield, was able to get a league up and running this winter.
The inaugural Ultimate Hoops season at Brookfield is through six weeks, and the standings are tight, as three of the seven teams in the league sit at 3-3. The one team that is ahead of all the rest is All About the Benjamins, who have gone from 2-2 to 5-2 in the past three weeks.
A big reason for that three-game win streak is the play of David Anderson and Bilal Hussein, who have averaged a combined 37 points in the past three weeks. In last night’s 65-57 win over Above The Rim, they combined to score 48 points (25 from Hussein and 23 from Anderson), which accounted for 74% of All About The Benjamin’s points.
Both Anderson and Hussein have been consistently good this season, which is the main reason they have their team with a better record than anyone else in Brookfield. Hussein has been the leading scorer, as he averages 20 points per game on 41% shooting, adding 6.7 rebounds and 3.3 steals. Anderson has been extremely efficient, as he’s scored 15.7 points while shooting 63% from the field and 73% from deep, adding a team-high 8.3 rebounds per game.
The rest of Brookfield will be chasing All About The Benjamins as the playoffs approach, and if Hussein and Anderson continue to play like this, they’re going to be hard to catch.
