Brandon Dominick sets new Syosset Vet League record with 50-point performance
Brandon Dominick had the best scoring performance the Syosset Vet League has ever seen last night, as he combined high-volume scoring with extreme efficiency to become the first player in league history to score 50 points.
Dominick got to 50 points on only 25 shots, as he shot 16-25 from the field, 7-10 from deep and 11-12 from the free-throw line.
“My teammates, they were just finding me. I was just moving without the ball,” Dominick said in a post-game interview. “I like to move without the ball as much as I like to dribble the ball. Any way I can get it, i’ll take it.”
The previous single-game scoring record was 47, which was set by Dominick’s teammate, Adam Sutton. Dominick got close to setting the record in the Summer of 2018 when he scored 46 points in an 80-51 win for Let’s Do This.
While that game was not close, his scoring was much needed last night, as this performance came in an 80-75 win for Let’s Do This, which is their fourth straight win. This now gives Let’s Do This a chance at the one seed in the playoffs if they can defeat Unstuck next week, who currently have a a league-best 6-1 record.
“We’ll be ready, I always like to play against Unstuck, it don’t take much to get up for that game, I’ll be ready, Dominick said.
