Five Questions: Hollis Hale has been watching Frozen II a lot at home

Hale

While we all would prefer to catch up in person at a league night, that’s not a possibility right now. With all Life Times closed at the moment, we want to reach out to players to see how they’re passing the time without basketball.

Hollis Hale, a veteran in UH Las Vegas that has won 16 championships, took some time to let us know what he’s been doing at home during this down time.

1. What do you miss most about normal life?

I have three daughters, and two play club soccer. My oldest is a senior in high school who plays ECNL club soccer for Heat FC here in Las Vegas and also runs track for high school. For me not being able to watch her play or run track has been hard, especially since this is her senior year. There are many games and travel weekends that she is going to miss because of this.

2. Do you have a favorite basketball game to rewatch?

Of course Kobe’s final game is one. The 1990 UNLV National Championship Game beatdown on Duke. The 1990 UNLV team is one of the best ever, but because we are a soccer family we’ve been watching a lot of 90 in 30 on beIN Sports

3. Do you have any at-home workouts or drills you’ve been doing?

I turned my garage into my own gym. I can pretty much do everything I need to do like if I was at Life Time. If I also want to get shots up I can wheel my portable basketball hoop to the street.

4. Best TV show/movie/book you’ve watched/read during this time?

Since we have Disney+ and I’m surrounded by girls, Frozen II has been playing a lot. But I’m catching up on Stars Wars in chronological order. Next will be the Marvel Movies in order

5. Are there any silver linings to staying at home?

There definitely are. Our family is so busy August-May with sports and traveling for sports. The negative side is we are missing all of that but the big positive side is we can spend more time as a family here at the house. My oldest daughter leaves in August to continue her education and soccer career at Southwest Baptist University in Missouri so this time we get to spend with her is nice.
