2021 National Tournament Update

On Monday morning at UHHQ in Minneapolis, Ultimate Hoops founder Alan Arlt provided a video update related to the status of the 2021 National Tournaments in Las Vegas and New York.

Feb. 15th has historically been the date for team registration to open for May’s National Tournament at Life Time - Green Valley in Las Vegas. The tournament for years has sold-out within minutes of opening registration.

Due to the pandemic, the 2020 National Tournaments were canceled with the plan to relaunch them in 2021.

In Monday’s video message, Arlt said the status of the 2021 National Tournaments remains unclear, with no clear sightline to when basketball play will be cleared to return in the Las Vegas region.

The UH front office will make a final determination on whether to postpone the 2021 Las Vegas tournament by March 15 to allow adequate time to plan and execute the May 15-16 event. Arlt said the league is considering moving the tournament to Fall 2021 if the government mandates forbid basketball play past March 15th. No potential date was mentioned for the Fall.

The New York tournament is currently scheduled as planned for Aug. 21-22 at Life Time - Sky in New York City.
