FOLSOM: Week 2 Predictions

By James Doran | Folsom League Coordinator

6 p.m. - Expansions (0-1) vs Scrappy Hour (0-1)

Two teams with a lot of heart and not going be satisfied with a loss, I expect a grind it out game for the Week 2 opener. The Expansions shot 31 percent against Game Time in a loss; they will try to work the defense and get some shots at the rim this week. Scrappy Hour lost a heartbreaker in Week 1. After six days of most likely sleepless nights, they can’t wait for the ball to be thrown up tomorrow evening. This one will be close, but Ron Jacobs will prove to be the X-factor.

Prediction: Scrappy Hour 68, Expansions 63

 7 p.m. - Locker Room Talk (1-0) vs Game Time (1-0)

Get your popcorn ready! This game has been sold out since early September. The headliners of this contest are already household names. Visman vs Alexander, Phelps vs Jacobs, Martz vs Blankenship. I really am lost for words with how big this game is. The shame is one of these teams has to lose. There’s a very good chance it will come down to the second unit. That advantage goes to Locker Room Talk. Benander, Burtz and Ahlin all played on the same team together last season,  and they know how to get in the oppositions head. This one is going to be both a physical and mental war, with Locker Room Talk having the final say.

Prediction: Locker Room Talk 81, Game Time 78

8 p.m. - Chuck Taylors (0-1) vs Ballbarians (1-0)

The Chuck Taylors were stunned last week by Game Time, realizing that a road to a championship might actually be a challenge. Mark Payne was still as advertised, putting up a 41.7 PPR in Week 1. The Ballbarians will have a never say die attitude as they put on display in their opener, battling back from 16 down to win by one point. There is no doubt this game is also going down to the final minutes. The Ballbarians squeak out another victory.

Prediction: Ballbarians 75, Chuck Taylors 73
