GAITHERSBURG: Week Five Power Rankings

By Remy Primas | Gaithersburg Media Associate

1. Hampton

They are a team that everyone around the league thought was unbeatable until they witnessed it last week. One of the star players Reagan Zamena may have scored a lot of points last week, but didn’t really have his best game. As many spectators left the game wondering why he took a few of the shots that he did. The Pirates will likely find their way back to team oriented basketball or else things could get worse before they get right.

2. Virginia Tech

They have to be feeling mighty good about themselves after knocking off the best team in the league last week. They looked like a well oiled machine and played for each other. “If they can keep this up, who knows what the season may have in store for them?”

3. Strayer

They are one of the leagues hottest teams at the moment and should be very excited. They’re on a two-game win streak and big man Mike Smith deserves a lot of the credit for the way he’s played offensively and knocking down free throws. These guys are looking like they might just be on to something.

4. Missouri

They are disappointed within themselves after giving up their last three games. As a team they’ve played solid basketball, but can’t find a way to produce down the stretch of games when it matters most. Look for Remy Primas to start facilitating the ball more to get players into open spots. Don’t count these guys out just yet.
