Can the Red Devils Bounce Back After an Overtime Loss to the Rebels?

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH: Week 3 Predictions

6:30 p.m. - Muskies (1-0) vs Guerrillas (1-0)

The Muskies and the Guerrillas present two high-powered offenses, but I expect the defensive intensity to be turned up a notch. Kevin Mayer and Sonny Young-Graves combined for 10 three-pointers in their Week 1 win and the Guerrillas will need to stay tight on the perimeter shooters. Kyle Radde and Ahmed Helmy presents an interesting matchup down low. Chris Maher and Dajon McKnight are matchup nightmares and could cause the Muskies some trouble. I think the Guerrillas pull this one out.

6:30 p.m. - Free Agents (0-0) vs Loons (0-2)

The Loons improved from Week 1 to Week 2 and will look to take another step in the right direction as they take on the Free Agents. They showed signs of life on the offensive end, but there’s still room for improvement. The Free Agents will be opening their season and it will be interesting to see what they have to offer. The Loons are a tough team defensively and they’ll need to play together on the offensive end. Mike Ratelle and Tom Anderson will lead the Loons to a victory this week.

7:30 p.m. - Red Devils (0-2) vs Player’s Club (1-1)

These two teams added on to the loss column in Week 2 and will be looking to right the ship in Week 3. The Red Devils nearly grabbed a victory in the previous week, but turnovers haunted their chances. They’ll need to improve in that area and keep up their three-point shooting where they average 12.0 makes per game.

Player’s Club have shared the ball and will need to keep up the ball movement. They have 35 assists through their first two games and it’ll lead to easier baskets and raise their efficiency on offense. I expect Ben Davis and Steven Kelsey provide an intriguing battle at the point guard position. I think the Red Devils will have a strong night shooting the ball and come out with the win.

7:30 p.m. - Rebels (2-0) vs Lightning (0-2)

The Lightning, who are coming off a tough matchup against the Aardvarks, will have another challenge ahead of them as they take on the Rebels. The Lightning were hot to start the game, but cooled off late in the first half. You could sense a drop in their energy when they started losing momentum and it’s vital they keep up their focus on the defensive end.

Jake Gave has been their spark on the offensive end and they’ll need their outside shots to fall against the Rebels. Cody Heinz and Ryan Jansen have led the Rebels in the scoring department, but their balanced attack will give the Lightning trouble. I like the Rebels to win.

8:30 p.m. - Aardvarks (2-0) vs THEM (1-1)

Both the Aardvarks and THEM had a strong night offensively in Week 2, but this game will come down to who can step up on the defensive end. Both of these teams can score and there’s plenty of talent between these two team.

Adam Hoven and Thomas Hoistad combined for 51 points for the Aardvarks and can put the ball in the basket in a variety of different fashions. Devin Stensrude scored 38 points for THEM in their victory and will need another hot shooting night to ignite THEM’s offense. As long as the Aardvarks take care of the basketball, I think they’ll find themselves victorious at the end of the game.
