GREEN VALLEY DRAFT: Week 3 Power Rankings

By Michael Palmer | Green valley Media Associate

1. Ironman (2-0)

Ironman has looked very strong so far this season as they crushed Hulk 109-75. I had a feeling that Bernard Preston certainly was the leader as he scored a game-high 29 points on 10 assists, good enough for a double-double. Sean Watkins shot 47 percent from the field, scoring 25 points on five assists, while Angel Castro poured down six threes, good enough for 20 points. J.J. Todd was a beast down low grabbing an incredible 20 rebounds while also scoring 10 points. Hard to not put this team at the top of the ranking and their results have shown that they belong at the top spot.

2. Spiderman (2-0)

Spiderman shot a mere 34 percent from the field and still beat Captain America by a 74-60 final. Charlie Farber scored 19 points on 10 rebounds and Edwin Urbina put up a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Urbina has been a solid impact for Spiderman and his defense has also been impressive to see as he didn't commit any fouls this week. Vance Randall has also been a huge piece for Spiderman as the sharp-shooter scored 19 points making five treys. It was insane to see Spiderman put up 50 threes as they only made 11 of them. As long as they get the win, that's all that matters.

3. Hulk (1-1)

Tough week for Hulk as they were crushed by Ironman, losing by 34 points. Sam Earl made his Hulk debut, scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds while Daniel Bower scored a team-high 25 points on 10 boards. Marcus Wilson managed to shot 56 percent from the field and score 23 points, but as a team, Hulk shot 38 percent from the field while Ironman made 51 percent of their shots. Hulk also shot a ton of threes, making 38 percent of them (14-37). Hopefully they bounce back next week and fix their shooting percentage.

4. Thor (1-1)

The power of Thor looked very sharp against Black Panther as they won by an 87-75 final. Kodiak Yazzie played his first game for Thor as the power forward scored 29 points (11-15) and grabbed 10 rebounds while point guard Juan Carter delivered in the clutch scoring 23 points, making 50 percent of his shots. Dominic Pedotto had a game to remember as he secured a double-double of 18 points and 16 boards and I expect even more out of him this season. Great quality win for Thor.

5. Black Panther (0-2)

Eric Redeaux scored a game-high 32 points on 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Thor defeated Black Panther by 12 points. I'm sure that the speed and agility of Carter and the power of Yazzie got the best of them. Anthony Livingston, who scored 25 points last week, scored 19 points on five rebounds and assists. Stefan Hanania was the other Black Panther to score in double figures as he put up 12 points on 13 rebounds. Next week will be a big week for them as this talented group can't afford to go 0-3.

6. Captain America (0-2)

Captain America was without Kenny McNeil this week as they fell to Spiderman by 14 points. Kerry Knoll had to sort of fill in for McNeil as the duo go back and forth scoring threes. Knoll went 6-14 from downtown and scored a game-high 20 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds. Mike Smiljanic put up 18 points and Brian Stanton scored nine points going 2-3 from downtown while also grabbing seven boards. They just have to get their guys going against top tier teams late in games and perhaps they'll get some wins.
