A Plethora of Playmakers
GAITHERSBURG: Week Seven Predictions
By Remy Primas | Gaithersburg Media Associate
7 p.m. - Hampton vs Virginia Tech
There’s no way that this won’t be game of the season. The last time these teams met it ended with the Hokies Ivan Beran hitting a game winning 3-pointer. Surely the Pirates will be out for revenge.
This game will likely be decided by whichever team comes out with the most energy from the tip. Expect MVP candidate Martrez Marshall of Virginia Tech to have another big game. It’ll be interesting to see who will stop him on the glass. I anticipate Brandon Allen to make the big plays down the stretch when Hampton needs them the most.
Prediction - Hokies by 2
8 p.m. - Strayer vs Missouri
This game will be another fun one. Each team has huge playoff aspirations and a win today would be big for both programs. This is the third meeting between the two and season tie breaker. Many expect Strayer to dominate this game especially with the way they won the last game, but Missouri says they have something special in store for tomorrow’s game.
Sean Sweeney wasn’t available for the Tigers in there last matchup and it made a difference as they got out rebounded. Don’t expect Strayer to let up this game. They’re finally getting a rhythm and with players like Seth Needleman balling out like last week they’ll only get better. I can’t wait to see what the outcome is in the end.
Prediction- Strayer by 3
