One of the most important tips I can give to any player who wants to be a consistent shooter is to work on the proper jump. Having the correct jump is vital to shooting because it allows you to achieve balance in the air which helps you control your shooting motion.

Courtney Kavanaugh: Thank you for sitting down with me, Lorenzo and your dedication to Ultimate Hoops. Tell me…what’s your ‘why’?

Lorenzo Orr: The sport of basketball has given me so many amazing opportunities! My ‘why’ is to take the experiences that I have had and use them as fuel to give back to the athletes I train.

CK: What Is Your Proudest Training Moment?

LO: There have been so many great moments, but one of the best happened just recently. I trained my first member at Life Time just over 7 years ago, during which I filmed the session.

A few days ago, I came across this video and could not believe the incredible progress he had made, it was so rewarding to see this player evolve into an athlete.

CK: What Is Your Greatest Basketball Accomplishment?

LO: My greatest basketball accomplishment was definitely when I played 1:1 with Michael Jordan at a camp I attended several years back.

CK: What Is Your Favorite Basketball Moment?

LO: Getting the chance to see myself on the big screen when I played basketball in a few scenes of the movie The Sixth Man. It was such a fun and rewarding experience.
