TEMPE: Week 4 Predictions
By Steve Bertrand | Tempe Media Associate
After multiple scheduling hurdles to overcome, we arrive at Week 4 with a couple of marquee matchups.
Shut Up and Play (1-2) vs. Dyknicksty (0-3)
SUAP is coming off their first win of the season, defeating the defending champs behind the triple-double by captain Donald Didlake and fantastic debut of sharpshooter Carlos Noise. SUAP should be able to continue their winning ways this week against what seems to be an undermanned Dyknicksty team, who had a rough week losing by a combined 49 points. If Donald benches Rob Armenta for shooting beyond 8 feet OR if Carlos teaches him to shoot by game time, they may just have a winning streak on their hands.
Prediction: Shut Up and Play by 12
Over/Under: 164
Fine Wine (3-0) vs. Show Me Dem Bibby’s (2-0)
Basically Ball So Hard minus a few came out their first two weeks and looked shaky by BSH standards, that is until last week when they blew out Dyknicksty by 20. Putting Alex Scales at what I believe is 48-0 for his UH career, this writer would love nothing more than to hand him his very first ‘L.’ It won’t be an easy task for SMDB as attendance has been nerve-wracking to say the least, not to mention the VERY deep Fine Wine bench of about 12 players with rumors of more joining this week will make them hard to contend with for 44 min. SMDB will need big games out of Juice and Chambers to keep this one interesting.
Prediction: Fine Wine by 7
Over/Under: 188
X-Over (1-1) vs. Peanut Butter & Jelly (1-2)
What would have seemed to be a heavy weight fight in the preseason, this writer now thinks PB&J is in for a long night. With the departure of Desmond, and the attendance of Jonathan Parker questionable, PB&J will have to hope Mario Tavizon has some tricks up his sleeve to keep up with the ultra athletic X-Over team. If Donté and Jonathan can score 30 a piece for PB&J this MIGHT be a close one, but I think Chris Fisher’s boys are just too good on the defensive end to let that happen.
Prediction: X-Over by 17
Over/Under: 192
