The Separation Begins
FORT WASHINGTON: Week 3 Power Rankings
By Kevin White | Fort Washington League Coordinator
The beginning of a UH season brings new hope for each team competing. In a six-team league after the second game two teams will be undefeated, two teams will be .500 and two teams will be winless. Starting in Week 3 is where you begin to see some separation amongst the teams. In an eight-week league, a fast start is just as important as a strong finish. Here’s how the standings stack up heading into Week 3.
1. Shawn Warren Elite (2-0)
Shawn Warren Elite posted another victory last week leading them to their 16th win in a row across three seasons. This is the longest streak in Fort Washington and every night this team comes out and proves why. The scariest part is that Last season’s co MVP Joe Weilandt hasn’t played a game yet this season. Either they will be stronger with is return or is possible they have thrown off the chemistry?
2. Our Time (2-0)
Our Time has quietly posted an undefeated record so far. They are always in the mix and have made it to the championship game twice in the last three seasons. Hopefully this is the year Jermaine Bromell and company can get over the hump.
3. Suburban Legends (1-1)
The Suburban Legends bounced back last week with their first win of the season. They got captain Anish Nair back who’s shooting helped them seal the game along with the savy point guard play of Jimmy Kieserman. They could easily be 2-0 right now but dropped a one point nail biter in Week 1.
4. Give N Go (1-1)
Give N Go dropped their first game of the season to Our Time last week. It was a back and forth game but in the end they were outlasted. Give N Go is the newest team to the league and they have a competitive roster. I expect them back in the win column sooner rather than later.
5. Outlaws (0-2)
The Outlaws are surprisingly winless. They feature David Hardy a former league MVP, Samuel Evans two-time league MVP and some championship experience on this team. Chemistry and personnel has been their demise in the first two games. I expect them to right the ship and be a contender before it’s all said and done.
6. X-Men (0-2)
The X-men have been no stranger to the bottom in the past few seasons. This season they have the roster and the personnel to be competitive and make some noise. Captain Rodney Firmin is staying optimistic and you know the X-men will compete every night.
