Who's Going to Run Away in the Second Half of the Season?
AUSTIN: Week 5 Predictions
By K. Scott | Austin League Coordinator
7 p.m. - Professors vs. Shots Fired
The Professors are coming off of a big upset against the N.U.K.s last week, and they are looking to make it two in a row. John Scott went off last week for 34 points and the team played much better defense overall. Shots Fired is still looking for their first win of the season, but they have been short-handed for the past few weeks. We are not sure they can match the Professors intensity this week.
Prediction: Professors win 81-74
8 p.m. - Lifetime Elite vs. Arsenal
This will be a battle of the undefeated teams of the UH Austin league. These two teams won the last five championships in this league, and both teams have added great new pieces. Arsenal’s Pat Perkins usually has good games against Lifetime Elite, so his ability to hit the 3 will be the difference.
Prediction: Arsenal wins at the buzzer 87-86
9 p.m. - The Blaze vs. Austin Heat
The Blaze are coming off of a tough loss against Lifetime Elite and will be looking to right the ship. The Heat got their first win of the season last week, but they just won’t have enough size to matchup with the twin towers Ira Clark and Russell Permenter.
Prediction: The Blaze wins 98- 85
10 p.m. - N.U.K. vs. Team Finesse
Both of these team are very good, but are both coming off of losses last week. We anticipate that both teams will come out firing to not lose two in a row. The N.U.K.s have never had a losing record in their franchise history.
Prediction: 50/50 Pick’em
