WEST BLOOMFIELD 6FT & UNDER: Week 6 Power Rankings

By Joe Kassis | West Bloomfield League Coordinator

1. Goon Squad (6-1)

After their first loss of the season, Goon Squad responded with a 77-74 victory over Team Anton last week to clinch first place. The Suleiman boys (Angelo and Armando) combined to score 68 of the team's 77 points in the victory including 12 combined 3-pointers. With first place under wraps, Goon Squad has a chance to knock off Team Anton in their last regular season game this week.

2. Smash Bros (4-3)

Offensively, they were not overly impressive in a 53-45 victory over Team Samer, but Smash Bros consistently has been the top defensive team this session behind Christian Girgis and David Girjis. This past week, the two combined for 33 points and 21 rebounds in the playoff clinching victory.

3. Showtime Ballers (4-3)

Rewind to just a little over a week ago and Showtime Ballers are 2-3 and Josh Isso is out for the rest of the session. So obviously they came out and swept Butterfly Effect 52-45 and Team Anton 78-62 to clinch a playoff spot. Wait, what?

4. Butterfly Effect (3-3)

Butterfly Effect's playoff chances remain up in the air due to 52-45 loss at the hands of a short-handed Showtime Ballers last week, 52-45. Brady Kriko (18 points) had a solid game offensively, but the rest of the team combined to go a putrid 10-28 from the field in the low scoring loss. Two games in the final week will decide whether they get to move on or not.

5. Team Anton (2-4)

With a chance to put itself in great position moving forward, Team Anton dropped both games of a doubleheader last week. 77-74 at the hands of Goon Squad and a 78-62 beatdown at the hands of Showtime Ballers. At one time it would have been blasphemy to say that Team Anton would not make the playoffs, but if they don't sweep this week, it will most likely become a reality.

6. Team Samer (1-6)

Team Samer was officially eliminated from the playoffs with a 53-45 loss to Smash Bros last week. Garo Kayayan (19 points) led the team offensively while Samer Basha (12 points, 8 rebounds) turned in a solid effort in the loss. Team Samer will look to go out on a winning night taking on Smash Bros in the last week of the regular season.
