SUMMERLIN DRAFT: Week 8 Predictions

By L.C. Comine | Summerlin Media Associate

6:30 p.m. - Las Vegas RatPack (5-2) vs. Las Vegas Dealers (3-4)

Our first game of the night will see the RatPack taking on the Dealers.  The RatPack have already locked down the No. 1 seed for the playoffs that start next week but the Dealers are in a three-way tie for the No. 2 seed.  The RatPack is 2-0 this season against the Dealers and have blown them out in both meetings.  This week the RatPack will be at full strength for the first time all season and that will not be a good thing for the rest of the league.  The duo of Bobby Mears and Nathaniel Burgess are averaging combined 62 PPG so far this season.  GM James Heneghan returns this week and he should have a lot of fun with the lineups he will be able to throw out there.

The Dealers just need to get guys to show up.  They had a tough time last week as they were swept in the doubleheader and were beaten pretty badly.  GM Ryan Geurts will need big time performances this week out for Devin Dunn and Bryan Lebo if they want to knock off the RatPack.  A win will put a lot of pressure on the teams in the 7:30 game and it quite possibly will put the Dealers in the No. 2 seed.  I think the Dealers will come out fired up but let’s be honest they don’t have the roster to keep up with Mears, Burgess, Bohao Li, and Anthony Khotsikian.  The RatPack cruise into the playoffs with an easy victory in this one.

Prediction: Las Vegas RatPack- 95, Las Vegas Dealers- 74

7:30 p.m. - Las Vegas Sin (3-4) vs. Las Vegas Bones (3-4)

Our final game of the regular season will see the Las Vegas Sin and the Las Vegas Bones meet in a matchup I believe will be for the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.  The Bones were my pick in the preseason to win the league and over the last few weeks they have finally started to play like it.  They are winners of three straight after starting the season 0-4.  GM Jonathan Mawhinney has done a tremendous job of getting his guys on the same page and this team has been playing with some tremendous chemistry.  The trio of Max Miller-Hooks IV, Landon Cooper, and Grant Lewis are playing as good as any one in the league right now and look for them to really cause some problems for the Sin.

As for the Sin, it's all about feeding the big man John Lazosky.  What a season Lazo is having.  The big man is carrying the Sin this season averaging 42.4 PPG and grabbing 12 boards a game.  He is having an MVP type season and he will need to be the man in this game if the Sin want to be the No. 2 seed.  Marcus and Barrington Milner will need to feed the big man early and often and Lazo will need to look to dish to them if the Bones double and triple team him.  These two teams have played two times this season and have split the first two meetings.  I really like the Bones in this one.  They beat the Sin last week and I think they will do it again this week.  This Bones squad has a ton of swagger right now and look for them to clinch the No. 2 seed and head into the playoffs on a four-game winning streak.

Prediction: Las Vegas Bones- 96, Las Vegas SIn- 88
