WEST BLOOMFIELD OPEN: Week 5 Predictions

By Joe Kassis | West Bloomfield League Coordinator

7 p.m. – Monstars (2-2) vs. FireStorm (1-3)

The Monstars continue to look solid and have locked down the No. 3 spot in the power rankings and in the overall standings.  Outside of the two teams playing at 8 p.m. tonight, they look to be the best of the rest while FireStorm is coming off of a 60-point loss to C4 last week that saw parts of the second half where two players refused to go on the court and made them play with four.  Justin McKinney and the Monstars will be just too much for FireStorm on this night.

Prediction: Monstars 94 - FireStorm 65

8 p.m. – C4 (4-0) vs. Hit Squad (4-0)

The game of the regular season is this matchup right here.  These two teams last met in last session's championship game with a 8-1 C4 beating a 9-0 Hit Squad 86-61 to claim the title.  That lost still is fresh for Desmond Dawson, Anthony Douglas, Ryan Matthews, Devon Keating, and GM Devante Pennyman and they have had this game circled on their calendar all season.  With a revamped roster, C4 has been as dominant as ever and will look to justify that by taking out an undefeated Hit Squad for the second time in as many tries.  With scorers such as Brandon Cassise (Oakland U), Terrance Warren Jr (Hiram), and Roger Hood (Kalamazoo) leading the way, C4 will have enough firepower to dispose of Hit Squad once again.

Prediction: C4 95 - Hit Squad 88

9 p.m. – Gamers (0-4) vs. 808's and Fastbreaks (1-3)

There is a high likelihood that the team who eventually takes the No. 4 spot in the playoffs comes from this matchup right here.  Gamers has a new look lineup that moved the ball well and implemented some zone defense last week in a one-point loss to No. 3 Monstars.  808's and Fastbreaks almost pulled off a big upset last week with Anton Lucaj scoring near 40.  If Gamers decide to zone again, 808's may be a tough matchup for them as they like to move the ball and knock down outside shots.  808's win this one in a low-scoring game.

Prediction: 808's and Fastbreaks 68 - Gamers 66
