BURLINGTON: Week 3 Predictions
By David Jordan | Burlington Media Associate
Coming into the season, Reformation was relatively unknown, and looked at as a team that would need time to jell. However, they’ve taken Burlington by storm behind a red hot UH rookie looking to make a name for himself. Two weeks into the season, we’ve had the chance to get a general idea of how teams will mesh together, and see their overall styles of play. One thing is for sure, Reformation is here, and they want the top spot. Let’s take a look at this week’s slate of games.
7 p.m. - Dream Team (0-2) vs Fire (1-1)
The Dream Team forfeited last week against Legendary as they didn’t have enough players. They should be well rested and ready to go against a tough Fire squad looking to get back in the win column.
Fire took a tough loss last week, falling to $hmoney by three points. Fire was missing a major piece in Mark Pierre-Louis, but that didn’t stop them from competing. They should be able to bounce back with Pierre-Louis in the lineup and Marco Banegas-Flores leading the way.
Prediction | Fire by 6
7 p.m. - Reformation (2-0) vs Legendary (2-0)
The guard play was too much for the Rox to handle in Week 2, as Mesay Merseth and Adam Fitzpatrick led the way for Reformation. With their second win in a row, Reformation has looked really good and continues to trend upward. They will have one of their toughest matchups yet this week vs Legendary.
Legendary improved to 2-0 via a forfeit on behalf of the Dream Team. They will come in well rested looking to stop a red-hot Reformation team. Keep an eye on the matchup between Mesay Merseth and Zach Fahey, as it could be a high-scoring affair. This is the Game Of The Week, and it won’t disappoint.
Prediction | Reformation by 4
8 p.m. - $hmoney (1-1) vs The Rox (0-2)
$hmoney was able to bounce back after a tough Week 1 loss to get into the win Column. If there was one thing that was made clear, it’s that $hmoney’s success this season will hinge on the play of Tomas Morales and Stephon Prescod. There was no answer for Tom “Boston Bane” Morales who finished with 30 points and 11 rebounds. $hmoney will look to carry this momentum into Week 3.
The Rox are off to a rough start, and need to find a way to get back on track. In their first game since acquiring Chris “Breezy” Brown, he jelled in the offense and looked like he would be a solid fit. However, the defense struggled to cover the guards from Reformation. They will need to step their game up defensively against Stephon Prescod and Tomas Morales, who both have the ability to take over a game.
Prediction | $hmoney By 10
