Richard Munoz Jr. lifts Haunted Hoopers to their first win

Haunted Hoopers have found themselves off to a haunted start to the fall season. They opened the season with a close 81-79 lose to the Pinheads, then followed that up with a blowout 75-54 loss to Baba Yagas.

They were able to turn around their early-season woes last night with a 68-67 win over Sons of Witches.

Richard Munoz Jr. was a massive reason they were able to win, as he scored a game-high 31 points on 10-13 shooting. The 31 points were 45% of the total points that the Haunted Hoopers scored.

It appears that the biggest problem for Haunted Hoopers so far this season has been attendance, as they have yet to play a game with Munoz Jr. and Alexander DiManno, their two highest scorers, playing together. Munoz Jr. missed their first game of the season, a game in which DiManno scored 29 points. Di Manno has missed the next two, which Munoz Jr. has scored 21 and 31 respectively.

While those are small sample sizes, both of them have scored 23 points per game or more in their careers, so these are proven scorers that have not been on the floor together. Given that every team in Folsom is 2-2, 2-1 or 1-2, there’s still plenty of opportunities to make up ground in the standings if they can both play together.
