Matt Kallead and The Documentary prove their supremacy over San Antonio
The Documentary get their name from The Game’s debut album, which was released in 2005. The most popular song on that album is “How We Do”, which features 50 Cent. I mention this because 50 also happens to be how many points Matt Kaleed scored last night in an 85-68 over ASTROWORLD.
As you can see, the San Antonio Draft League has all of their teams name themselves after a rap album, and while The Documentary is not the best album of the six chosen (I would say it’s The Blueprint), they are the best team in the league.
The Documentary remain the only undefeated team in San Antonio after last night’s win, moving to 4-0 this season. The main reason for their success has been the play of Kallead, who’s averaging 30.3 points per game with absurd shooting splits of 61/56/88. His 50 points last night came on 19-26 shooting from the field and 8-14 from deep, and it accounted for 58% of the Documentary’s scoring.
The efficient shooting is nothing new for Kallead, as his career shooting averages are 53/42/74. This is, however, the most high-volume scoring he’s ever done, as his 50 points last night were a career-high (20 points more than his previous high of 30 points, which he’s done four times), and his season average of 30.3 is by far higher than his previous highest-scoring season of 18.8 points per game.
Add in Abram Gomez, Frankie Wheeler and Joshua Feeney, who are averaging a combined 40.3 points per game, and you have an elite team. This has all added up to an undefeated 4-0 start, and those wins have not come in nail-biting games. The Documentary are defeating their opponents by an average of 20.8 points.
Their schedule gets no easier next week, as they face The Blueprint, who sit second in the standings with a 3-1 record.
