Kocevski

Here’s a look at the five hottest players in UH Nation from the past week, based on PPV.

1. Mihail Kocevski +14,608,301

Kocevski has been a mainstay in the Summerlin Rec League for a couple years, averaging 26.8 points per game in 84 rec games. He started the 2020 Winter season on a high note, putting up 36 points, 17 rebounds and five assists in a 90-67 win over Hickory Huskers. He was incredibly efficient, shooting 12-17 from the field, 5-8 from deep and 7-8 from the free-throw line. Kocevski helped lead Team Worldwide to the championship game last season in Summerlin, and if performances like this continue, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them there again.

2. Jason Williams +12,711,119

Williams climbed up this list due to a triple-double in the Gilbert Vet League last night. He had 26 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists on 11-16 shooting in a 95-85 win over Renegades. Coincidentally enough, Williams has a teammate with the same namesake, Gerald Williams, who also had a triple-double in the same game. He had 39 points and 11 rebounds and assists apiece.

3. Marcus Gaskins +11,383,092

Gaskins’ last two games have been close to identical, both coming in the King of Prussia Draft League. In a playoff loss last season, Gaskins had 21 points, four rebounds and two assists, shooting 8-15 from the field. He opened the winter season with 20 points, four rebounds and six assists, shooting 9-14 from the field. One point fewer, same amount of rebounds and four more assists in the second game compared to the first.

4. Brandon Wilson +11,161,754

Wilson has had a great start to the winter season in Garden City, and that was emphasized in his second game, which came in a 94-89 win for Fallen Order. Wilson had a triple-double of 32 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists on 10-16 shooting from the field. Wilson has averaged 25.5/9/7 on 52% shooting from the field. That’s only a two-game sample size, but that’s over four points and 3.5 assists more than his career averages. He’s combined nicely with Sheldon Hagigal so far this season, and I’d expect his production to continue to rise above what we’ve seen in his career thus far.

5. Sean McGahey +10,339,642

McGahey is only six games into his UH career, and he’s started this season with the two best games of his career, and they came in two different leagues. He had a career-high 27 points in an 82-74 loss in the Summerlin Open League last Monday. He followed that up by breaking that career-high on Wednesday in the Green Valley Open League, scoring 32 points and adding 13 rebounds while shooting 12-21 from the field in a 130-129 overtime win for Rudedogs.
