Kenny Oakley has a career night in the Green Valley Rec League
Kenny Oakley has played in 47 career Ultimate Hoops games, and he has never had as many points or rebounds as he did in last night’s 121-75 victory for 3 Bang in the Green Valley Rec League.
Oakley absolutely dominated Team Drip, as he had a career-high 54 points and a career-high 24 rebounds in the blowout victory. He was able to rack up points by barely missing, as he shot 21-29 from the field and 10-13 from deep.
His previous career-high in points came on July 23, 2019 in a 93-64 victory over Gandonians, where he scored 39 points on 16-23 shooting from the field. His previous career-high in rebounds came on November 20, 2018 in a 91-61 victory (also against Gandonians), where he grabbed 21 rebounds.
This game did not come against anyone on the Gandonians, but Team Drip only had four players in attendance and had to play with a sub. Oakley and 3 Bang took full advantage of that situation and came away with a 46-point victory.
It took Oakley 210 days to set a new career-high in points and 455 days to set a new career-high in rebounds. We’ll see how long it takes him now to surpass these two gargantuan numbers.
