Zach Zhang's season-high scoring night gives Wegman's Warriors fourth straight win
Zach Zhang opened his season in the Princeton Draft League with a brilliant scoring performance. He scored a career-high 26 points on 9-15 shooting from the field and 5-8 from deep. His next five games did not go as well, as he averaged six points per game on 27% shooting from the field.
His form turned back around last night, as he set a new career-high by scoring 27 points on 11-22 shooting from the field, adding seven rebounds in an 82-80 win for Wegman’s Warriors.
Zhang led the team in scoring, and Ashwin Narra and Greg Louis-Jacques each added a double-double to combine for 30 points and 32 rebounds.
This extends Wegman’s Warriors’ win streak to four games, and three of the four wins have come by three points or fewer. This also increases their record to 5-2 this season, which puts them in a tie for first place with Princeton Kings, whose five-game win streak came to an end last night in a 68-64 loss to Baby Yodas.
The one seed in the playoffs is now up for grabs, and fortunately enough, these two teams are scheduled to play each other in the final game of the regular season next week. Shout out to league coordinator, Phil Jackson, for having the foresight to end the season with this blockbuster matchup.
