It’s extremely rare to see the two milestones that Hollis Hale and J.J. Todd pulled off last night, as you can count on one hand how many other players have reached these achievements. It’s even rarer that they happened in the same game, and that they were playing for the same team.

Heading into last night’s game against Arc Angles in the Green Valley Vet League, a game that High Mileage won 101-70, Hale was sitting at 1,998 3-pointers made and Todd was sitting at 991 blocks.

Hale surpassed 2,000 3-pointers made with ease, as he ended up shooting 11-20 from deep and finished with a game-high 41 points. He now has 2,009 3-pointers made in his career, making him the fourth player in UH history to make 2,000 or more 3s.

Todd must have known he needed nine blocks to reach 1,000 for his career, as he got to exactly nine to become the second player in UH history to block 1,000 shots. The only player ahead of Todd is fellow UH Vegas player Travis Scribner, who leads Todd by 61 blocks. Scribner averages 1.3 more blocks than Todd, but Todd plays more consistently, as he’s played in 100 more games than Scribner. It’ll be interesting to see if Todd can decrease the gap between the two over the course of the rest of the season.
