Final Chaptr (Atlanta) Team Preview

When trying to find the direction of building the Final Chaptr roster, team captains Emery Range & Greg Little had one thing in mind: spreading the floor.

With the game moving to more open space and players having more room to operate, Final Chaptr embraced this philosophy when recruiting for the 2021 New York City National Tournament. One player who Range believes will benefit from this style roster is Derrick Allen.

When asked who he thinks will lead the team in scoring Range said without hesitation “DA”. Allen shoots 42% from the three-point line for his Ultimate Hoops tenure including his last NY Tournament run in 2019.

Range and Little project Final Chaptr to finish a top three seed by the time single-elimination playoffs start. This team will have multiple two-way players with guys like Range and Eric Weems. They have versatility guarding 1-4 while having big men who will secure rebounds and defend at the rim with 6’7” Brock Shorter and 6’5” Kerry Heavens.

Final Chaptr’s average height is 6’4 and they feel they are well equipped to handle business on both sides of the floor.

Gawd Squad (Atlanta) Team Preview

Gawd Squad has a mix of Ultimate Hoops veterans. The point of emphasis for team captain Frankie Ghouchani when constructing the roster was chemistry. Ghouchani wanted players that would enjoy playing with each other and be unselfish.

Ghouchani expects John Millsap and Justin Hall to lead the way in scoring. Millsap averages 26.6 points for his Ultimate Hoops career while Hall averages 20.2 points per game. Ghouchani and Sari Papazian are looking to keep defenders honest with opportunities Millsap and Justin Hall will create.

Both are 40 plus percent three point shooters for career and have tournament experience. Ghouchani doesn’t care what seed they are by single elimination time.

“We will be ready,” said Ghouchani.
