Brandon Walker Surpasses 400 Career Games
Each week, we search through our 360 media coverage to highlight the week that was in Ultimate Hoops Leagues.
Player Spotlight
It's becoming difficult to keep up with Brandon Walker's milestones. Walker plays in three different leagues out in Arizona, and with the combined Draft Tournament going on, it's adding up games played for Walker. Last week, Walker played in his 400th career Ultimate Hoops game. He racked up multiple games this week and had a few big scoring games, which put him past 7,000 career points. Walker now has 405 career games played (30th most in UH) and 7,091 points (23rd most in UH). Walker's The Walking Tech's were knocked out of the Draft Tournament in the Final Four, ending his chances at a state title. He can still try to get more milestones during the Winter season in the Tempe vet league playoffs.
Milestones
A couple other familiar faces join Walker in setting some career milestones this week.
Vaughn Gray became the second player in Ultimate Hoops history to reach 11,000 career points scored when he scored 16 points in a playoff win for Goblin Skillz in the Shelby open playoffs on Wednesday. Goblin Skillz beat the Spartans 91-64, and Gray scored 16 points in the win. The only person he trails on the career scoring list is fellow Shelby running mate Mckinsey Golfin.
Mike Mastro has had some time off in Garden City as his Hooligans squad earned a first-round bye in the playoffs. The last game he played was on March 8, when the Hooligans beat the Ginobli Geriatrics 100-60. That win was Mastro's 200th of his career.
David Votta played in two playoff games this week, one in Alpharetta and one in Atlanta. He grabbed 13 total rebounds across the two games, which helped him surpass 1,500 in his career. He now has 1,508.
