Buckeyes Looking To Take Over
GREEN VALLEY VET B: Week 2 Power Rankings
By Michael Palmer | Green Valley Media Associate
1. Bhoudini (0-0)
Charlie Farber and his Bhoudini squad deserve the right to be at the top spot after they made the title game last season against OOMG. I'm sure Farber will have most of his guys back, and man will their lineup be stacked. The unit of Edwin Urbina, Jim Reilly, RJ Wojtowicz and Daniel Bower looked sharp last season. Will we see some shake-ups in this roster? We may see a different Bhoduini, so we'll wait and see come tonight.
2. Buckeyes (1-0)
Joe Paulk and the Buckeyes will be vying the top spot this entire season and it will start with Joe Paulk's game. He scored a game-high 23 points against the Boozers as he made five treys. Paul Sexton had a sneaky double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Justin Weniger got himself 11 points. Paulk will need to continue lighting it up from downtown and show the league who's the king from beyond the arc.
3. Old School (1-0)
Old School always have a solid lineup and it seems like every game someone is the player of the week. Alexander Gonzalez is a big threat down low, while Rawle Smith seems to be improving each and every season. Dan Lumello doesn't score a whole lot, but when he does, it's a huge momentum booster. Hopefully Brian Stanton will suit up for them this season and make a case that they belong near the top of the rankings.
4. Boozers (0-1)
The Boozers lost by 10 points last week to the Buckeyes, even though Don Brkovich scored a team-high 20 points. Jason Salerno only grabbed six boards as everyone on the Buckeyes was grabbing rebounds from no where. Let's see how many games Salerno plays this season and whether or not they can keep up with some of the top-tier teams.
5. Eagles (0-0)
Matt Cummings and the Eagles have been formed, and until I get a better look at this team, I'll write a better description, but this should be an interesting season for the Eagles.
6. RudeDogs (0-1)
The RudeDogs somewhat struggled last week against Old School, losing by nine points. Lewis Ball made his Ultimate Hoops debut and scored a team-high 14 points, while Robert Lew (12 points) and James Rice (10 points) were the other RudeDogs to score in double figures. They simply couldn't make their shots and need to find a better rhythm if they want to move up in the rankings.
7. 44 Minutes (0-0)
The 44 Minutes squad is comprised of Jeremy Peltz, possibly Ken Weng and other guys who love to take shot after shot. Not sure how they're going to do this season, but I'm sure the goal for them is to not be at the bottom of the rankings.
Predictions
Boozers (0-1) vs. 44 Minutes (0-0) | Boozers -7.5
Bhoudini (0-0) vs. Old School (1-0) | Bhoudini -9
Eagles (0-0) vs. RudeDogs (0-1) | Eagles -5.5
